Heartland House residents learn to make ice cream
On May 29, residents at Heartland House includes Marsha Wiesjahn, Robert Davis, and Lola Manz learned about the history of ice cream and how to make it. In the morning, they made homemade ice cream by shaking and rolling a coffee can filled with ice and salt with an inner container that held ice cream ingredients. Because the outside of the can became so cold, they wrapped the can in a towel. They enjoyed their creation in the afternoon during reading time.
