Wild Rose “Super HEROES”
On Thursday, February 6th, the 100th Day of School, the Wild Rose School District students, staff, the Wild Rose Kiwanis Club, and several private donors stepped up as “Super HEROES” for their local American Red Cross. In past years, Wild Rose students have sold candles, worn hats and pajamas for the day, and even hosted a Donkey Basketball game. This time, the Elementary School children, inspired by Principal Matt Wilbert, had an “Avenger Day for Heroes” and the Middle School and High School hosted a “Hats-Pajamas & Blanket Day.” The Wild Rose Kiwanis Club along with Jerry & Ruth Apps, Dave & Jane Erickson, Michael & Brigette Henschel, Karen & Tom Reynolds, and Jon and Jane Wilcox, supplemented what the students raised. Heroes monies will be utilized for Local Disaster Relief and Service to the Armed Forces. In 13 years of Heroes support, this grand total exceeds all other years. The photo includes: (Back L-R): Jane Erickson, Matt Wilbert, Liz Dohr and Karen Reynolds (Front L-R): Alyson Henschel, Emma Hanson and Abi Messer.
