Tri-County students National Language Arts League Test

Each year the Tri-County High School English department administers the National Language Arts League (NLAL) Test, which is a timed 35-minute multiple choice test that asks questions on vocabulary, spelling, reading comprehension, and grammar. School districts across the nation offer this test to their students in between April and May. During the second week of June, Megan Woyak, Tri-County English teacher, received confirmation that Tri-County High School students scored well on this test.  This year the NLAL Grade 9 Team is the second place national winner. The team took second place after the first place national winner Young Americans Christian School in Georgia. They scored a cumulative team score of 373 points, and the first place team scored scored 405 points. The NLAL Grade 9 Team, the second place national winner, consisted of: Brianna Pfadenhauer, Avril Lewallen, Gabriel Prince, Lyric Arnold, Kaylee Goman, Liberty Vetrone, Grace Detlor, Vanessa Garcia, Jacob Bacon, and Elijah Caldwell. The NLAL Grades 10-12 Team 3 is the second place national winner and the NLAL Grades 10-12 Team 1 is the third place national winner. Tri-County grades 10-12 Teams 3 took second place after the first place national winner Young Americans Christian School in Georgia. Young Americans Christian School scored a cumulative team score of 420 points, their Team 3 team scored 328 points, and Team 1 scored 317 points. The NLAL Grades 10-12 Team 3, the second place national winner, consisted of: Bailey Anderson, Fatima Paredes Landeros, Giselle Loa, Maddison Rothermel, Taylor Millard, Raziel Boyd, Tamara Fischer, Nikolaus Schoneman, Keaton Gomoll, and Nickolas Foster. The NLAL Grades 10-12 Team 1, the third place national winner, consisted of: Ana Paredes Landeros, Andrea Juarez, Kaila Foster, Desirae Juarez, Melanie Prince, Traeh Badger, Valerie Garcia, Amanda Castillo, Dylan Windsor, and Allayna Perez. Tri-County is very proud of the accomplishments on this national test/contest.
