Reach The Peak, Inc. donates $8,300 to A+ After School Programs

The 12th Annual Reach The Peak Race Fundraiser Event held on Oct. 12, 2019 was a great success, raising a total of $8,300 through local sponsorships and race fees.

In December, a donation check of $8,300 was presented to the A+ After School Program at Parkside to the students that participated in the 2019 event and helped to prepare runner goodie bags.

The Reach The Peak appreciates the race sponsors, planning committee and event volunteers. Thrivent Financial has not only sponsored the event since the beginning, it has also been part of the planning committee for all 12 years. ThedaCare has sponsored the One Mile Kids Run for five years, taking part in the planning process in the last two years, as well. A total of 43 sponsors and donors, along with 41 volunteers, supported this event. The Reach the Peak committee is so grateful to have such a supportive community.

Local sponsors that provided donations or discounts valued $100 to $400 include: Wautoma Kiwanis Club, Christianos, Waushara Argus, Wautoma Rental Center, Mt. Morris Camp & Retreat Center, Mt Morris Mill Coffee Shop, Milk Specialties, Wautoma Area School District Employees, Gary & Kay Christensen, Dogger’s Bar & Lanes, Redgranite Family Chiropractic, Moose Inn, Silvercryst, BMO Harris Bank, Farago & Son Well Drilling & Plumbing, Nowak Farms Trucking, LLC, Waushara Dental Associates SC, LifeQuest, Hometown Bank, Weekly Timber & Pulp, Wautoma Rotary Club, Creative Custom Embroidery, Berlin Journal, WDUX, Packerland Portables, and Larry Stevens Mobile Entertainment. Many other local businesses provided items for prize drawings and runner goodie bags and gift cards for race supplies.

One hundred thirty-two people participated in 2019, down from 163 in 2018. In 2020 the goal is to have 200 participants and raise $10,000.
