Fox Valley Technical College offers fall classes at Wautoma Regional Center

FVTC Wautoma Welding: GMAW Techniques 1 Wednesdays, Aug. 28-Dec. 18, 5-9 p.m. Demonstrates welding on steel sheet metals and plates. Emphasis is place on axial spray, pulse spray and short circuit mode of transfer. Welding, Metal Sculptures Thursdays, Oct. 24- Dec. 19, 5-9 p.m. Covers safety and basic welding fundamentals. Various welding techniques will be taught in creating a metal sculpture.

Nursing Assistant Program (CNA): Fall CNA program starts Sept. 25—deadline to apply for fall program is Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019. Spring CNA program starts Jan. 29, 2020—please contact us soon to ensure ample time to complete the spring admission process. This program will help you learn how to provide for the personal care and comfort of people with health problems. Upon completion, you’ll be ready to take the certification exam. You will have a variety of employment options as a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

Business Classes: Prin-ciples of Accounting, Financial Accounting, Payroll, QuickBooks Accounting, Beginning Spreadsheets, Business Analyst Essentials, Business Law 1, Introduction to Business, Global Business Fundamentals. QuickBooks Level 1, six hrs., Thursday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., QuickBooks Level 2, six hrs., Thursday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Numerous additional business classes are available, please call us for more information.

Computer Software Classes: Microsoft Access Intermediate, Microsoft Ex-cel Intermediate, Microsoft PowerPoint Intermediate, Microsoft Word Intermediate, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Publisher, Practical Office Software. These classes are online classes, but you may also use our computer lab and meet in person with the instructor.

 

Computers for Seniors: Introduction to Computers for Seniors Sept. 10-Sept. 12, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Windows 10 for Seniors, Sept. 17, 9a.m.-12 p.m. Introduction to Word Processing for Seniors, Sept. 19, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Introduction to Internet, Sept. 24, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

GED/HSED: Thinking about getting your GED or HSED? FVTC offers preparation classes at the Wautoma Regional Center throughout the semester. First Steps to Success orientations will provide you with all the information you need to get started on your high school credential. Please call in advance to register for any one of the First Steps to Success Orientation classes.

CPR: AHA BLS Provider CPR and AHA BLS Provider Update. These classes are offered Tuesdays 5-9 p.m. on either Sept. 24 or Dec. 17.  CPR-HeartSaver AED with First Aid, and First Aid Seminar classes are offered on Tuesdays 5-10 p.m. (9 p.m. for First Aid only) on either Oct. 29 or Dec. 10.

General Studies Clas-ses: Oral/Interpersonal Communication, Witten Communication, Mathe-matics, Econ, Intro to Ethics, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Diversity Studies.

Painting, Watercolor Lab: Focuses on the basic elements and techniques of watercolor painting. After introduction and practice, students will be able to work on individual projects with the instructor’s assistance and guidance. This class is being offered on Thursdays Oct. 10 and Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Home Alone Babysitting: Teaches the babysitter how to deal with crying, tantrums, bedtime issues, how to provide a safe environment and first aid. Infant/Child CPR is also taught. Students will receive a certificate of completion. This class is being offered on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 8 a.m.– 4 p.m. at the Wautoma Regional Center.

Quilting Techniques: This course focuses on basic techniques for designing and creating quilts for wall hangings, bed coverings, clothing or home decorating. Students will learn how to read quilt patterns, measure, piece, and machine sew a quilt. This class meets Thursday Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Carrying a Concealed Weapon: This class is a Wisconsin Department of Justice sanctioned course designed to give you all the pertinent facts and information on carrying a concealed weapon in the state of Wisconsin. Upon completion of this training, you will receive a proof of training certificate that will assist you in applying for a concealed carry permit in Wisconsin. This class is being offered on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 5-9 p.m. at the Wautoma Regional Center.
