Berlin High School teacher receives Mensa Distinguished Teacher award

Karyl Hanson, an al-ternative school teacher at Berlin High School, has been awarded the 2018 American Mensa Distinguished Teacher award. The award celebrates a teacher, professor or instructor at any educational level who has had an especially positive influence on the education or life of a Mensa member. “Karyl is a wonderful teacher, who saw my potential when I didn’t and changed my life,” says Jessica Rodaks Street, BHS graduate and Mensa member who nominated Hanson for the award. “She helped make it possible for me to not only finish high school without being held back a grade but helped me graduate eight months early.” “Our school is lucky to have a teacher like Karyl,” says Lynn Mork, Berlin High School Principal. “She sees every student for who they can be and is committed to helping them reach their greatest potential.”
