Wild Rose volleyball team wins two games Sept. 4

The Wild Rose volleyball team played well, going a full five games in a Sept. 4 match against Shiocton, but ended up losing 3 games to 2.

“Our team played well,” commented Wild Rose Head Coach Jason Kirby. “Shiocton played through points left on the floor, which we have to work on. Overall, I’m proud of this team.”

The first game of the match, Wild Rose jumped out to a 6-2 lead with a 3-point serve from Savannah Jansen, including an ace. Shiocton was able to come back within 2 at 5-7, but the hosts were able to keep the visitors at bay for the rest of the game. Addy Lauritzen gave Wild Rose a big 16-5 advantage with an 8-point serve which included and ace. Shiocton wasn’t able to get any closer than 8 after that, with Kellyn Van Straten serving for 2 consecutive points. Anna Caswell came up with a 4-point service run, including 2 aces to nearly give the Lady Wildcats a win. The hosts ended up with a 25-12 win with a side out.
