The Westfield Pioneers faced off against conference opponents, Adams-Friendship Green Devils, for a Feb. 17 boys’ basketball game. The Pioneers fell short to the Green Devils, 49-33.
Westfield was the first to score the board within 1.5 minutes. Despite the Green Devils having more height and more experienced seniors, it looked like the Pioneers were going to be able to hold their own. Adam-Friendship was played proficiently and defense kept preventing scores from the Pioneers. By half time the score was Pioneers at 16 with 10 fouls and the Green Devils at 24 with 6 fouls.
Pioneers top scorers were: Senior Kashton Kangas with 14, Sophomore Samuel Berruecos-Morales 7, Sophomore Owen Hendee 5, and Sophomore Keegan Hockerman 4. Top scorers for the Green Devils were: Junior Lincon Smith 12, Senior Keyvon Halloway 11, Senior Wyatt Pollex 10 and Junior Dylan Baker 3.
