Lady Eagles end season with two rough losses

The Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles took on two teams this week that both resulted in losses.

The Lady Eagles played at home against the Wild Rose Ladycats on Feb. 18. The Ladycats led at the end of the first half with 21-19, and they continued in this manner in the second half by scoring 45 additional points to Almond-Bancroft’s 33. Wild Rose won 66-52.

Anna Caswell led with 31 points for Wild Rose, with Rachael Strey right behind her with 10 points. Caswell also went 12-16 at the free throw line.

For Almond-Bancroft, Carlee Lamb led with 15 points, and Melissa Perzinski wasn’t far behind with 14 points.

The Lady Eagles took a hard loss on Feb. 20 when they competed against Pacelli. Almond-Bancroft was in the lead by 8, 36-28, at the end of the first half, but the Lady Eagles couldn’t keep this up in the second half. They allowed Pacelli to make 37 points to their 28, which caused them to lose by a single point, 65-64.

Melissa Perzinski had 17 points, and Makayla Perzinski and Dernbach tied with 14 points each.
