Eagles continue winning streak with Pittsville game

The Almond-Bancroft Eagles football team con-tinued their winning streak when they competed against Pittsville on Sept. 13.

The game was an exciting one for Eagles fans, with Almond’s Jackson Beggs scoring a touchdown with a 21-yard gain. The extra point was unsuccessful.

In the second quarter with 5:22 left on the clock, Beggs scored another touchdown for a 45-yard gain. A two-point conversion was completed by Beggs for a 14-0 lead.

A third touchdown by Beggs was made in the third quarter with 4:01 left on the clock. The touchdown was a 3-yard run, but the two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Pittsville came back in the fourth with a touchdown and a failed two-point conversion, making the score 20-6. Almond-Bancroft scored their last touchdown of the night by Beggs with 2:57 left on the clock. The extra point was unsuccessful, but the Eagles were still the night’s winners with a final score of 26-6.

Beggs had the most yardage of the night with 264 yards, but Baumgartner also accumulated 96 yards.
