Cheyenne Young Signs with Bobcat Softball

Peru State head softball coach J.L. Thomason recently announced that Cheyenne Young signed her letter of intent for the 2020-21 school year. Young is from Wautoma High School.

 

Young is the daughter of Frank and Cheryl Young of Redgranite. She will major in elementary education while attending Peru State.

During her high school years, Young played two years of varsity softball, one year of varsity volleyball, and served as the manager for two years for the basketball team. In addition, Young was a part of the academic group – Lamp of Knowledge.

Her team participated in the 2019 Wisconsin State Championships earning a sixth seed and went 1-1 in the tournament. Wautoma defeated Westfield Area in the first round of the state tournament 6-5. In the second round they played number two-seeded Campbellsport and lost 3-0.

 

Thomason commented, “We look for Cheyenne to be used primarily at first base. She consistently hits for contact.”
