22nd Bowls for Hunger to be held Nov. 26 & 27
Texture is the theme for the 22nd Annual Bowls for Hunger. Students and staff at Westfield Area High School are creating some exciting new dinnerware this year by exploring texture. Using stamps and armatures, a great array of tactile surfaces are being accomplished. There will still be many hand-painted bowls with varied colors and designs available.
On Monday, Nov. 26 and Tuesday, Nov. 27, people are welcome to stop by the high school art room and design their own bowl. You can reserve that bowl and pick it up at the supper. The meal is planned for Monday, Dec. 10 at the Harrisville Sportsman’s Club building. Your bowl will be reserved until you pick it up.
Please email Jeff Napp at email@example.com for directions, if you would like to attend one of these sessions.
There will be additional restaurants providing soups this year. The list includes: Frannie May’s Cafe of Oxford, Pioneer Restaurant of Westfield, Generations Bar and Grill of Oxford, Yahooz Sports Bar and Grill from Montello, The Cabin Bar and Grill in Coloma, The Oyster Cracker in Montello, Mikey’s Sportsman’s Bar and Grill in Harrisville, Culver’s of Wautoma, the Chateau Tavern and Grill of Montello, and the Career Foods class of WAHS.
Students from the National Honor society, Student Council, FFA, DECA, and Art Club are busy selling tickets and requesting donations for the project.
The meal event is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 10 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Harrisville Sportsman’s Club building. All proceeds from the meal and raffle of big bowls go to the Marquette County Food pantry and possibly other local food pantries.
