ELCA missionaries to Japan visited Hope Lutheran in Wautoma on July 24

Subhead

Rev. Dr. Jim and Carol Sack, ELCA missionaries to Japan are visiting the United States from Tokyo.  They have been serving for 40 years.  Jim teaches at Japan Lutheran College and Carol’s ministry is mainly in musical prayer at the bedside of hospice patients, along with doing retreats and classes on the spirituality of the Psalms.  In the United States, they will visit some of the congregations who are involved in their ministry through mission support.  Hope Lutheran Church was honored to have Rev. Dr. Sack provide the sermon on Sunday, July 24th.  Following the service, the Sack’s provided detail of their missionary work and answered questions.  They noted that only 1% of Japan’s population are Christian.
