James F. Roser, age 77, was born and raised in Chicago where he also raised his family. After retirement Jim moved to New Lenox in 1998 where he resided with his wife, Donna, until his passing Friday, July 10, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

James is survived by his loving family, wife, Donna Roser (Clark) whom he was married to for 55 years; they were married on July 10th, 1965. Children, James (Carrie) Roser, John (Edie) Roser, Leanne Roser, grandchildren, Jordan, Julie, Josie, Jared, Nicholas, Danny, Anthony, Gina, Alex, great-grandchild, Grant, siblings, Albert Roser Jr., Judi Simek and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents. Albert & Frances Roser (Gagliano), in-laws, Donald & Dorothy Clark (Sobieski) and brother in-law Jerry Simek Jr.

James was a retired Chicago Police Officer who served the city of Chicago for 32 years; he especially enjoyed his 10 years as a member of the Canine Unit. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. James greatly enjoyed his extended family in Texas and being a “Winter Texan”.

Jim also had his extended Wisconsin family and friends Jim created many memorable summers and weekends in the Redgranite area on his family farm. Jim enjoyed his time fishing boating and hanging out with his family and friends at Pearl Lake. Many lifelong friendships were created. Jim’s greatest piece of Wisconsin that he loved more than ever was the day he found and later married his life long sweetheart Donna.

The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, July 18th, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private. For information, www.kurtzmemorialchapel.com or 815-485-3700.
