Here are just some of the prizes the Wautoma Public Library will be giving away this summer during their Libraries Rock summer reading program.

Summer is here, the Wautoma Library has something for everyone

Libraries Rock is our summer reading program for babies and kids up through age 13. Sign-up starts June 4. A reading challenge provides the opportunity to win one of the awesome raffle baskets at the end of the summer. Three Mondays in June will offer kids the opportunity to work on their imagination, exploration, and interactions at the library “Discovery Centers” with Camp Parkside Kindness Zone. The dates are June 11, 18, 25 with a starting time of 10:30 am. The lineup for weekly interactive, cultural ex-periences is as follows: David Stokes: Nature’s Music will occur Thursday, June 14 at 1 pm. Rocking Facts with the UW-Extension happens Thursday, June 21 at 1 pm. Mr. Steve: Master Facilitator of Fun will be at the library Thursday, June 28 at 1 pm. Jay’s All Around This World happens Thursday, July 12. The Kindness Rocks and Karaoke will be Thursday July 19 at 1 pm. Finally, Just for Kicks with Mrs. Wedde is Thursday, July 26 at 1 pm. Kids aren’t the only ones having fun though. Teens and Adults will also have opportunities to win prizes by reading books and filling out recommendation cards or completing a Reading Bingo Card. On Tuesday, June 12 at 5:30 pm, join us for Recipes with Options class. Linda Welty will provide numerous flexible recipes and demonstrate 4 dishes that are easily altered. The class is free to attend but sign up is required. Be prepared to come hungry.   Also, for genealogy and history buffs there is a section just for you at the Library. Year-round programs include the “1000 Books Group”, which meets from 10 am to Noon on the third Saturday each month, encourages families to read with children before Kindergarten. “Happy, Healthy Eating” meets Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am to learn new ways to prepare nutritious food. The “Page Turners Book Club” meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 1:30 pm, and the “Novel Nights Book Club” meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 pm. The “Grief Support Group” led by St. Agnesian meets the 4th Wednesday at 2:30 pm and is dedicated to healing and helping. All are welcome to attend these groups. Finally, stop by the Friends of the Library Book Sale Room. You never know what you’ll find as new donations are made every day. Too many books at home? Consider donating them to the Friends.
