Poy Sippi Library plans an abundance of kid-friendly activities this summer
The Poy Sippi Library is excited to announce their programs for the summer on Mondays at 10:30 am at the library. This year’s theme—A Universe of Stories—will be all about space.
The library kicks off the summer on June 17 by learning about the moon, where kids will construct a Moon Habitat, make no-bake moon cookies, and construct the phases of the moon with Oreo cookies.
On June 24, Poy Sippi Library will have a special program with MSgt Williamson and the Air Force Weather machine.
The fun continues with Planetary Pasta Rovers on July 1, Galaxy Plates (paint ceramic plates with shaving cream) on July 8, Bubble-Powered Rockets on July 15, and ending the summer with the Universe and Night Sky. Kids will also have the opportunity to make slime. The Summer Reading Challenge features great prizes, including a robot.
Poy Sippi Library also has some extra summer-fun offerings. On Wednesday, June 19 the library will be showing the documentary Apollo 11 at 2 p.m. The popcorn machine will be running. There will be a special “Space” story hour on Monday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. There will be several activities kids can do on their own, including what makes white light and the color spectrum, constructing space vehicles, and how the astronauts handle things in space.
The Poy Sippi Public Library staff invites you to visit their website and check out what’s happening and to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at www.poysippilibrary.org or call the library at 920-987-5737. The library is located at W2251 Commercial Street, Poy Sippi.
