My message to Wautoma/Waushara County
To the Editor,
My first introduction to Wautoma/ Waushara County was through Bill Downie, with Bill’s encouragement I became involved in a community that he took pride in. My initial Chamber involvement showed me his enthusiasm for the community, through his involvement with County Board, Masonic Union, Veterans, church, school board, and his pride in the Mavericks doing parades to benefit The Children’s Hospitals .
The many stories that only Bill could tell over and over and still stay so interesting. His many friends and family that found Bill a great host and mentor.
Our move to Florida about 8 years ago only increased this love and respect as we made new friends, new stories to tell and found the beauty of nature. We continued to stay in touch through The Argus.
I appreciate the great words and understanding that you shared and what a great loss this was.
As we recover from this recent pandemic and have the opportunity to share memories with all, we will have a Celebration of Life in Florida and a funeral for Bill in Wautoma.
The memories will never fade. Thank you Bill!!
