Area resident appreciates great medical care experience

To the editor:

On Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. I missed a step on a ladder and fell to the ground and fractured my right wrist in three places. My husband immediately drove me to ThedaCare-Wild Rose Hospital Emergency and by 4 p.m I had ice pack, pain pills and emergency staff checking me out.

By 5 p.m. I had X-rays and the radiologist had been contacted and Dr. Jones in Berlin had an appointment for me the following day.  My husband took  me to Dr. Jones at 10 a.m. and was told by Dr. Jones I would have surgery by 1 p.m that afternoon. My prep, surgery and post op were completed by 5 p.m. I was on pain meds and home safe and sound by 6 p.m.  They do an exceptional job under pressure.

Too many times we have negative experiences.  I want the neighborhood to know that the doctors, nurses, and staff could not have been more compassionate or thorough. They do an exceptional job under pressure.

I am in a temporary cast until I have the stitches out then a full cast till 6-8 weeks.  I am almost 70 and this is my first broken bone experience.  I want everyone to know that ThedaCare is a valuable resource in Waushara County.
