DID YOU KNOW…..Waushara County Health Department has many services and programs that can be of use to you and your clients?
•Free to income eligible children, American Indian and Alaskan Native
•Tdap (Tetanus with whooping cough) free for adults
•Hepatitis A and B free for high risk clients and also available for purchase
•Free Flu Shots to school aged children through the Mass Preparedness School Flu Clinics
•Flu Shots - billed though Medicaid and Medicare or for purchase
•Car seat program – reduced priced seats and instruction on proper choice and installation
•School nurses in Wautoma, Wild Rose, and Tri-County School districts
•Dental Sealant program in Waushara County Schools
•Fluoride supplement program – for families who have well water
•Fluoride rinse in Tri-County and Wild Rose schools
•Blood Lead monitoring of children with elevated levels
•Blood Pressure clinics – open to the public every other month at the senior meal sites (Plainfield, Coloma, Saxeville, Hancock, Wild Rose, Redgranite, PoySippi), or by appointment at the health department.
•Foot Care clinic for the elderly and disabled (currently a waiting list)
•Rental of mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches)
•Restaurant, camp-ground, lodging, food, pool and kennel inspections
•Safe food handling training
•Tobacco compliance checks – going into the community to check if businesses are training their employees on proper ID checks and not selling to underage customers
•Radon test kits
•Short term kits • Long term kits
•Water test kits – price varies depending on testing choices with the testing lab.
•Reproductive Health clinic – (Appointments available Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm, call to schedule)
•Pregnancy testing and education on life planning
•Birth Control - education and start up (condoms, BC pills or Depo-Provera) with a referral to primary care provider for continuation of treatment)
•STD/STI education, testing, and treatment
•Always free condoms in the lobby
•Communicable disease follow-up and surveillance
