Wild Rose School District exceeds expectations with school report card
The Wild Rose School Board approved the 2018-19 state district and school report cards during a Dec. 12 meeting.
District Administrator Craig Hayes stated that the report was, “overall, good news.” The elementary and high school scorers were up, with the elementary students and the district as a whole having significantly exceeded expectations.
Prior to the Board meeting, a meeting of the Wild Rose Scholarship Foundation was held.
Outside of the treasurers report being approved, the scholarship selection committee appointees were also approved. The appointees include Craig Hayes, Liz Dohr, Mikayla Mixdorf, Steve Yeska, and Amanda Bronk.
The next foundation meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 9, 2020.
Jacob Lund was approved for serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the boys’ basketball program.
The Board accepted the gift of $483 from the Booster Club to the Class of 2021. Members of that class worked in the concession stand for the home football games as a fund raising idea. The Booster Club gave a portion of the proceeds to the class, because of the great job they did.
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Wild Rose School District and the Waushara County Department of Human Services was approved by the Board.
Sandie Anderson and Kathy Williams were recognized for their 20 years of service to the Wild Rose School Board of Education.
The Board approved the selection of Neil Simon’s “Fools”, a comedy, for the spring play.
Course descriptions and offerings for the 2020-21 school year were presented by Middle School/High School Principal Amanda Bronk. After considering the changes/additions, the Board approved.
A Pupil Nondiscrimination Report for the 2018-19 school year was reviewed before being approved.
During the MS/HS principals’ report, it was mentioned that Rebecca Gerloff is a second Wild Rose faculty member to be nominated for the 2019-20 National Life Group Life Changer of the Year award. Wisconsin only had three nominees at this time, and Wild Rose has two of them.
The next regular Board meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m.
