Wautoma Area School District awarded school safety grant

At the June 11 Wautoma Area School District Board meeting, Wautoma High School Principal/soon-to-be District Administrator Tom Rheinheimer told the board that a Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Initiative Grant has been awarded to the district. The grant application was submitted on May 23; District Administrator Jeff Kasuboski received notice of approval on June 4. Kasuboski will be receiving the $84,464 grant at a June 14 school safety conference in Wisconsin Dells. Rheinheimer told the board that a School Safety Committee will need to be organized, with one board member on the committee. The committee will be required to submit a school safety plan to the Department of Justice by January 2019.   Students-of-the-Month were nominated from each school in the district and were personally congratulated at the meeting by District Ad-ministrator Jeff Kasuboski and School Board President Ross Peterson. They are: Redgranite student Kylee Heyden, Riverview student Taylin Denton, Parkside student Kayli Bagley, and Wautoma High School student Anastasia Dillenberg.
