Redgranite president discusses snow removal
At the Dec. 17 village board meeting, Redgranite Village President Belinda Passarelli told board members that recently a resident complained that the public works employee, who was plowing the street, left snow at the end of their driveway.
Passarelli reminded residents that homeowners are responsible for clearing and removing snow that is in their driveway and not to expect the snowplow driver to do this for them. She also said that all complaints regarding snow removal need to go through the village clerk.
In other business, the board approved:
•The hiring of Mary Piechowski as the village deputy clerk, effective Jan. 2, 2020 and Ben Strojny as full-time police officer, effective Dec. 2, 2019.
•Payment of $180 to Kunde Memorials for damage repair at Foster Road Cemetery and submitting a statement of loss/damage to Waushara Co. Clerk of Courts for reimbursement from the vandal.
•Payment of $30,686.00 for Egbert Excavating, Inc. Change Order #2 (Hydrant Replacement Project).
