The Wautoma Area School Board approved Jewel Mucklin as the new District Administrator during their monthly meeting at Wautoma High School on Nov. 14.
Mucklin, who currently serves as the Riverview Elementary School Principal, will take over the position from current District Administrator Tom Rheinheimer on July 1, 2023, after he official retires from WASD after 24 years. According to Board President Nicole Lehr, Mucklin was the board’s unanimous first choice for the position.
The board went on approve the creation of a Wautoma Area School District Health Assistant position. Currently, WASD Nurse Cari Pronschinske is handling a number of high-need students across all four schools in the district that require medical assistance from the school nurse. The school is hoping to find someone with a CNA background to help assist with school nurse duties.
Director of Instruction Sierra Steuerwald presented the board with 2021-2022 Assessment Results from last year’s Forward and Access tests. The board will review the data to bring back for discussion during the December board meeting.
The board approved the following agenda items: the resignation of Michelle Wagner-Marks, Parkside School Program Support Assistant; retirement of Dan Schuldt, Parkside School Custodian II; and resignation of Caitlin Karr, Redgranite A+ After School Enrichment Leader; Kayla Gill, Wautoma High School Co-Advisor, FCCLA; Jon Anderson, Substitute Bus Driver; A+ After School Staff; the Amendment to District Administrator Contract; the Parkside School Kitchen Helper Reduction in Hours Request; the creation of a Wautoma High School Key Club Extracurricular Advisor Position; the Wautoma High School English Language Teacher Contract Addendum; and 2022-2023 Category C Field Trips to Argonne National Laboratory and the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.
