Hancock submits USDA grant application for new squad

The Hancock Village Board meeting was held on Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. Kelly Kemnetz reported that the election notices had been posted in the village.

The board discussed the new banners that the Hancock Citizen’s Committee will purchase for the new lights downtown. There are now 11 poles, an increase from eight. The board also discussed the purchase of Christmas decorations for the additional poles.

Hancock’s Village wide rummage sales will be on Saturday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sellers are encouraged to contact the Hancock Village Clerk to get their sale posted on the map.

Sue Dietz reported on the USDA grant application that they will be attempting to use toward a new squad car. The application was to be completed by Aug. 1.

Fish Lake district met on Aug. 1, and they reported approximately 200 boats use the lake. At this time the milfoil problem has been eradicated from the lake.

The next village board meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 10.
