CAP Senior Housing gets city approval

At the regular meeting of the Wautoma Common Council held on Monday, June 11, CAP Services presented a proposal for three senior-living, single-story apartment buildings on the west edge of the Lake Ridge Subdivision, next to the current apartment structures. There will still be several meetings held with public input regarding the expansion, but this meeting was to ensure that CAP Services would qualify for federal funding. The project is not expected to take place until Summer of 2019, if all approval is met. After discussion, the council approved CAP Services approval to apply for federal funding. The potential incoming general convenience store next to the downtown was discussed by the Council with input from the public. While the City had fielded several positive calls regarding the addition in town, there were concerned citizens from a neighboring store in attendance to speak, along with a resident who lived outside of the City.
