Wautoma Area School District establishes safety measures

Whether you are a 5th grade student at Parkside School, a community member attending an event at Redgranite Elementary School, a grandparent eating lunch with your 2nd grade grandchild at Riverview Elementary School, a parent attending a basketball game at the Wautoma High School Field House, or a staff member teaching the children of our community on a daily basis, there is a reasonable expectation by each one of these individuals that structures and processes have been established to keep them as safe as possible while they are on the grounds of the Wautoma Area School District.

One hundred percent safety can never be guaranteed and should never be promised; however, with proper safety education, training, processes, and structures in place, a dramatic reduction in unsafe situations and behaviors can occur. Even though security plans and practices have been in place for a number of years, the Wautoma Area School District (WASD) Board of Education and Administrative team has increased its commitment and urgency to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these plans and practices through improvements.
