Black Hawk Folk Society announces 31st Annual Folk Music Festival line-up
It’s time to mark your calendars for Black Hawk Folk Society’s 31st annual folk music festival Saturday, July 14 in Mt. Morris Town Park on County Highway G in Mount Morris. The day starts with an open mic from 10:30 am– 11:45 am. Musicians are invited to share a couple of their favorite tunes. Ruth and Max Bloomquist will take the stage at noon for an hour-long set. This duo has been sharing their brand of folk music for more than 40 years. They’re known for captivating their audiences with brilliant harmonies and lots of musical charm. They will be followed by Jack Williams, Tracy Grammer, performing two sets at 2:25 pm and 5:50 pm, Michael Ammons and the Water Street Hot Shots, and Spook Handy. The festival is scheduled to end around 7 pm. Bill Kehl will be back by popular demand to emcee. Bill is a talented musician and raconteur, sharing his vast knowledge of many cultures’ music and a demoing his collection of instruments from throughout the world. He is guaranteed to keep things moving and keeping a smile on everyone’s face.
