Felonies recorded in Waushara County

Garrett A. Sparkman, Wautoma, was in court on Sept. 25 on charges of six counts of Manufacture/Deliver Cocaine (>1-5g), two counts of Manuf/Deliver Cocaine (>5-15g), and one count Possession of Methamphetamine for a Motion hearing. Court questioned defendant re-garding revocation of work release. Defendant disagreed with the request. The Court found request penalty is appropriate and entered an order revoking work release for the balance of the sentence.

Jessica S. McGuigan, Wautoma, was in court on Sept. 25 on charges of Battery by Prisoners and Throw/Discharge Bodily Fluid at Public Safety Worker for a Final pre-trial. A Bifurcated plea was entered and the report ordered. A Jury trial was scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31.

Matthew Richard Friestrom, Neenah, was in court on Sept. 25 on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense) for a Bail/bond hearing. Court ordered a $3,000 Cash Bond. A Plea/sentencing hearing was scheduled for Oct. 3.

Rick T. Strange-Nelson, Poy Sippi, was in court on Sept. 25 on charges of Manufacture/Deliver THC (<=200g) for a Plea/sentencing hearing. Plea: Count 1 – NC. Court accepted plea and entered JOC. Counts 2 and 3 – DRI. Court ordered: S/W 24 months’ probation – Conditions: 25 days WC Jail – Huber, No GT, NO CFTS, the Court had no objection to the sentence being served in another jurisdiction, sentence to commence by no later than Nov. 1. AODA and follow through, DE must maintain absolute sobriety, DE may not be present up the premises of any bars, DE is prohibited from possessing/ingesting any substances that have not been prescribed by a physician.

Paul Scott Breest, Weyauwega, was in court on Sept. 27 on charges of Possess w/ Intent-THC (>2,500-10,000g) and Manufacture/Deliver THC (<=200g) for a Hearing. The Attorney updated the court that they received a phone call from the defendant stating he was in the emergency room in Waupaca with a medical condition. The Attorney requested the court grant leave due to medical history of client and understands frustration of jury assembly. The DA requested a warrant due to non-appearance as he was ready to proceed and the jury was assembled. The Court authorized the warrant, stayed until 4:30 p.m. for the defendant to provide medical documentation to the court. The Court held in abeyance the determination of jury fees being assessed to the defendant. Breest was back in court on Oct. 1 for a Status conference. A Preliminary hearing was scheduled for Nov. 8. A Jury trial was scheduled for Nov. 14.

Russell L. Smith, Han-cock, was in court on Sept. 27 on charges of Sex Offender-Fail/Provide Information for a Bail/bond hearing. Court set a $10,000 Signature Bond with conditions. An Initial appearance was scheduled for Oct. 3.

Steven Rashard Jordan, Boscobel, was in court on Oct. 1 on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Battery to a Prosecutor, Solicitation to Commit Battery or Threat to a Prosecutor, and Solicitation to Commit 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide for a Status conference.  Telephone conference was scheduled for Oct. 9, and a Jury trial was scheduled for Oct. 14-17.
