Wautoma Rotary makes a difference in the community

Early in 2019, the club was able to secure a money grant for the Waushara County Food Pantry. These district grant dollars, $58,100, were available to the 54 Rotary clubs in District 6270. Wautoma Rotary was able to secure the maximum district allotment of $3,000 for the Food Pantry. They used the funds to purchase a pallet jack which has been needed for years. Marty Lee, Director of the Waushara County Food Pantry, accepted the donation this August. Pictured with Marty is Russ Nero, Wautoma Rotary Foundation Chair, District 6270 Governor Steen Sanderhoff, and Wautoma Rotary President Jeff Martz. In 2019, only 21 of the district’s clubs are receiving grant awards for their communities and not every application was allowed the maximum district allotment. Wautoma Rotary will continue to welcome requests for District monies each and every year they qualify to write for them. Criteria, in addition to a club’s ability to qualify each year, involves making sure the grant helps satisfy a one-time purchase or a one-time project which benefits community wide. Please consider joining the club any Wednesday for their weekly programming. Meetings are held at Christianos, 200 W. Main Street in Wautoma, at noon and end promptly by 1 p.m. The club welcomes you to show them your individual skills and gifts which can be developed for the good of Waushara County.
