Waushara County 4H members attend Explore Wisconsin trip

Five Waushara County 4H members applied, interviewed, and were selected to participate in the Waushara County Explore Wisconsin Trip. The members met in February to select the region of Wisconsin they wished to explore, and they chose the northeast part of Wisconsin. Each participant researched activities they could do on this four-day adventure. At the second meeting, the participants shared their researched activity ideas, selected a housing option, and put together a tentative budget. The group was chaperoned by Jessica Rettler and Adam Rigden.     On the first day of the trip, they toured the Maritime Museum, the Cobia Submarine, and the Cedar Crest Ice Cream store in Manitowoc. The next day, they walked the Botanical Gardens in Green Bay, visited the Nature Preserve, and Bay Beach Amusement Park. The Zippin Pippin was the highlight of Bay Beach. On the third day, the group toured the Whitefish Dunes State Park, Door County, Cana Lighthouse, Peninsula State Park, and Sister Bay. Before heading home on the fourth day, Explore Wisconsin participants enjoyed time at the New Zoo and zip lining, rockwall climbing, and the high ropes challenge course at the Adventure Park.
