Sand Country Striders announce the start of its outdoor season

Sand Country Striders was organized as a way to promote healthy lifestyles through running and walking; as well as the social opportunities those activities offer here in Waushara County.

Most folks think that running or walking is a solo adventure; however, there is something to be said about the support of others to help keep people on track and motivated to get out there and continue to move in a positive direction.

No matter what your goal might be; some additional social interaction or starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, come on out. The Sandy County Striders encourages the public to participate in the Kiwanis 5K for Autism on Saturday, May 2 or take on an event of greater distance at the Jailbreak Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 26.

If you’re ready to dust off those running/walking shoes and do some training, join the Sandy County Striders on Monday, March 16 at 4:45 p.m. in the south parking lot of the Waushara County Courthouse, Wautoma. All ability groups are welcome, and the group will plan to meet every Monday thereafter.
