Gravunder shares experiences at Stout
On Jan. 2, the Wautoma Kiwanis Club welcomed Alexa Gravunder, granddaughter of Wautoma Kiwanis member Gary Christensen, as their guest speaker at the dinner meeting held at Silvercryst Supper Club, Wautoma. Alexa is a Junior in college at Stout studying Supply Chain Management. Alexa graduated from Wautoma High School and was a member of the Key Club for four years. Some of the reasons Alexa decided to attend Stout were: Stout has a 97 percent job placement after graduation, has small class sizes, and her grandfather Gary went to Stout. For nine months of Alexa’s Sophomore year, she did a Coop at a business called Greenheck where she learned real life experience about Supply Chain Management. Between her supervisors at Greenheck and her professors at college, she earned her grades while working at her job. Stout also offers to students three month internships besides the nine month Coop’s from over 300 businesses that come to Stout each fall and spring to find students to work in either Coop’s, internships or full time jobs for graduates. Alexa is learning a great deal from college and the work experience she has gained from her coop time at Greenheck. Follow the Wautoma Kiwanis Club on Facebook to see who next week’s speaker will be.
