Friends of Roberts Park welcome new playground equipment

Roberts Park in Wild Rose received a welcomed addition recently.

In 2018, money was raised by Friends of Roberts Park for the purchase of some playground equipment, which arrived late in the year and had to wait until favorable weather to be installed. The installation of a 10-Spin Merry-go-round and an eight-seat Arch Swing Set was completed the end of May of this year. The equipment was acquired from Boland Recreation of Fall River.

Smykal Construction of Wild Rose provided the concrete footings for the playground equipment, while Gabe’s Top It or Drop It Tree Service provided plenty of wood chips for a safe playing surface. Perry Drmolka, Doug Jirik, Robbie Jansen, Dan Nordhaus, Tom Kline, and Mary Kusche were all on hand for the installation.

The acquisition of the playground equipment was made possible through the generous donations from Adams-Columbia Community Fund, Operation Round-Up Trust, L&L Propane of Waupaca, Shelmet Precision and Die Casting, Jenks Well Drilling, ThedaCare Medical Center-Wild Rose, Dan Mielke, Wild Rose Lions Club, the Wild Rose Classic Car Show, the Farmers State Bank-Wild Rose Branch, Rockwood Inc., the Wild Rose One Fund Drive, the Wild Rose Kiwanis Club, the Oakwood Bar, Restaurant, and Campsites, Studio 455 Photography, Holly Funeral Home, Tom’s Garage of Wild Rose, the Wild Rose Hotel and Bar, Pineland Park of Wild Rose, Benny’s Wild Rose Market, Amazing Cleaning Service of Wild Rose, and Graphic Associates of Wild Rose.

The next project on the agenda for the Friends of Roberts Park is the construction of a gazebo to be big enough to hold a fairly good-sized instrumental band for entertainment.
