Businesses and organizations donate to Back to School Bash in Waushara County

Preparing children for the approaching school year is a community effort in Waushara County. With widespread support, the 17th annual Back to School Bash distributed more than 400 backpacks of school supplies to area students. School supplies and monetary donations were received from businesses, libraries, individuals, faith communities and service clubs throughout Waushara County. This broad community support is critical to ensure backpacks and school supplies are available for Waushara County families who find it difficult to afford school necessities. The Back to School Bash is coordinated by the Waushara County Department of Human Services and supported entirely through donations received from the community. Volunteers distributed donation bins, organize donated and purchased school supplies and packed 500 backpacks. The backpacks were distributed on Aug. 11 and 12. Angie Konieczki, Back to School Bash Coordinator, said, “The support we receive from the community is remarkable. Parents are so thankful for this help and the students are excited to select their own backpack from the hundr eds our volunteers prepare.” To learn more about Waushara County’s Back to School Bash, contact Angie Konieczki at 920-787-6550 or Jan Novak at 920-787-6600
