Nelson Family Tree Farm to give away 50 Christmas Trees to Veterans
Gary and Joanne Nelson of Nelson Family Tree Farms have generously donated 50 Christmas Trees to area veterans. The giveaway will take place in the former Gables parking lot, behind the WWII Memorial Building, State Road 22, Wautoma, directly across the highway from the Farm Market. It is scheduled to coincide with the Wautoma Christmas Parade, Saturday, Nov. 24 from 4–5:30 p.m.
Veterans interested in receiving a free Christmas Tree must present a certificate at the time of pick up. The certificates are available through the Waushara County Veterans Services Office, Courthouse North Annex, Room 121, 230 West Park Street, Wautoma. Please call (920) 787-0446 in advance to ensure availability of a certificate.
Certificates must be picked up in person prior to Nov. 28 and proof of veteran status must be provided, along with a picture ID (if you are not already established with the CVSO office). Only one tree per family, no reservations, and certificate must be presented at the Gables parking lot on the date of the give-away.
