One fatality reported in motorcycle crash

On April 12 at 1:12 p.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a motorcycle crash on CTH C in the Town of Mecan, Marquette County. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on CTH C, negotiating a curve when the driver lost control and collided with a tree. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by MedFlight to the U.W. Hospital in Madison. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Wisconsin State Patrol, Marquette County EMS, Princeton FD, and Montello Fire Department, Michael Karlson, Montello, 67, the operator of the motorcycle, passed away April 15 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. The crash is still under investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marquette County Medical Examiner.
