Accidents recorded in Waushara County

•7/18/19:  A one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:35 p.m. on N3820 12th Ave, Town of Deerfield. Sergio Nmi Rodriguez, 26, Wautoma, was identified by a valid WI IS card and suffered a light burn from the airbag deployment. Witness described Rodriguez traveling southbound on 12th Ave. He left the roadway and struck his mailbox, two large decorative rocks, and a 12-foot pine tree before ending up in the woods of the property directly to the south. Rodriguez’s vehicle suffered severe front end damage as the oil streaked the entire distance between properties two-hundred-feet apart. Rodriguez was operating without a valid DL and was revoked in 2016 from an OWI related incident. Rodriguez stated that he blacked out and did not know what happened. Rodriguez was arrested for operating without a valid DL, revoked status 2nd in three years (2016) and endangering safety of person or property by reckless driving.

•8/15/19: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 1:25 p.m. on the intersection of CTH A and 24th Ave, Town of Springwater. At the scene, driver James Liebe, 23, Stevens Point, admitted to causing the accident. He and his passenger were on their way to Tomah when he swerved to miss Jason R. Adair, 39, Two Rivers, who was turning left onto 24th Ave. Adair stated he was waiting to turn when he observed Liebe and was concerned about his stopping in time. Adair stated he attempted to move further into the intersection when he was struck from behind by Liebe. No injuries were reported.

•8/29/19: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 10:50 a.m. on STH 49 southbound, Town of Aurora. Kathy J. Gray, 62, Wautoma, slowed and stopped for a traffic control person who had their sign indicating to stop. Benjamin D. Laude, 17, Berlin, approached Gray and believed the vehicle was still moving. Laude had slowed down but advised that he did not see brake lights on Gray’s vehicle. Deputy found that Gray’s vehicle was a manual transmission and the operator did not have the vehicle in gear, so the brake lights were not activated. Laude said that he slowed down but not enough to stop before colliding with Gray.

•8/30/19: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 3:05 p.m. on 5th Road, Town of Coloma. Louise M. Murch, 34, Coloma, pulled onto 5th Road from a gravel driveway. Korrine Marie Samson, 27, Coloma, was going straight southbound on 5th Road. The vehicles collided head on. One possible injury was reported.

•9/03/19: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 3 p.m. on 502 Snowmobile Run, Village of Plainfield. Glen L. Meyer, 70, Plainfield, was backing out of a driveway. Flora M. Pronschinske, 69, Nekoosa, stopped at a mailbox to get mail. Meyer looked but did not see Pronschinske. Meyer backed into the southbound lane of Snowmobile Run and into the front passenger corner of Pronschinske.

•9/05/19: 5:30 p.m., Czech Ct, Town of Dakota. Juleanna Charmaine Johnson, 16, Wautoma.
