Accidents recorded in Waushara County

•8/12/19: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 12:33 p.m. on CTH EE northbound, Town of Warren. Josey Bryant Wallenhorst, 27, Berlin, went airborne off of an old railroad grade rise in the road, was in the air for approximately 80 feet, impacted the road with the undercarriage upon landing, lost control, veered to the left, went left of center lane into southbound lane of travel, went into the west ditch and impacted a driveway embankment, tracked back onto the road across the southbound lane and into the northbound lane. The vehicle traveled approximately 600 feet out of control, given the power pole distances in the area are 200 feet apart. The middle passenger did not have their seatbelt fastened, and was impacted by the roof and dashboard interior of the truck. They were transported by ambulance. The operator and other passenger had visible injuries from the seatbelt.

 

•8/12/19: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 3:55 p.m. on CTH V northbound, Town of Hancock. Thomas Herbert Evertsen, 34, Almond, was traveling when the passenger side tires entered the east ditch. Evertsen attempted to correct the vehicle to steer it back onto the roadway, but he overcorrected the steering input, causing the vehicle to swerve back onto the roadway. Evertsen observed oncoming southbound traffic and steered the vehicle back toward the ditch to avoid a collision. Evertsen traveled through the east ditch before becoming jack knifed in the ditch with the tractor facing south and trailer facing east with the rear of the trailer blocking the northbound land of CR-V.
