The Waushara County Tavern League recently selected the Vision 2020 Backpack Nutrition Program to receive financial support. Tavern League Secretary Christine Niles and Treasurer Ginger Brown presented the $1,000 donation to Backpack Nutrition Program Committee on Friday, March 24. The donation will also be partially matched by the Wisconsin Tavern League Foundation.

Eighteen Wautoma High School Spanish 3 and 4 students as well as four chaperones will depart for San Jose, Costa Rica, on June 12 for an eight-day, seven night trip to become fully immersed in the language and culture.

As Wautoma High School enters its final quarter of the 2016-17 school year, 18 students and four chaperones are counting the days until they depart on an adventure of a lifetime to Costa Rica.

Eighteen Wautoma High School Spanish 3 and 4 students as well as four chaperones will depart for San Jose, Costa Rica, on June 12 for an eight-day, seven night trip to become fully immersed in the language and culture.

Blazing Stars 4-H member Mattie Talbott closed the Waushara County 4-H Festival of the Arts with a dance to the song “True Colors” on March 26 at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center in Wautoma.

Poy Sippi Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited held their annual banquet at Hahn A Lula, Fremont, in March where they collected non-perishable food items for the Poy Sippi Food Pantry as well as cash donations.

Berlin’s 1st National Bank Financial Literacy Coordinator Amy Vetrone received the Financial Literacy Banker of the Year Award from Cynthia Erdman, chair of the Wisconsin Banking Association, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

The Wisconsin Banking Association has named Amy Vetrone, 1st National Bank’s Financial Literacy Coordinator, as Financial Literacy Banker of the Year for 2015-16.
