Redgranite nominates Student of the Month

Subhead

“During the month of December, Redgranite Elementary School was celebrating the character trait empathy. We define empathy as being able to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.  This student has the ability to value, respect, and understand another person’s views.  This is not an easy skill to learn, but this student is wiser than her years and consistently demonstrates empathy in the classroom environment. This student can identify when a classmate is in need of help and simply needs a friend and she is there in the blink of an eye. She doesn’t ask questions, she listens. She doesn’t only help one person, she helps everyone. She not only shows empathy towards her classmates but she shows the adults at our school empathy. The 2020 school year has been tumultuous but she has definitely been a shining star and made the year easier for everyone in the third grade classroom. It is with honor that I nominate Maylee Goddard as Redgranite’s Student of the Month.” From Julie Petersen, Redgranite Elementary Third Grade Teacher.
