WENDY SUE OLSON

Subhead

Wendy Sue Olson (Graeszel) was born into eternal life Sunday, January 3, 2021.  Wendy was the loving mother to Aaron (Monica) Olson, sister of Suzi (Kevin) Moore, a grandmother of Paige and Piper Olson, cousins Scott Somers, Steve (Debbie) Somers and Cindy (Keith) Judd.  She leaves behind numerous friends and her dear partner Don Weyenberg.

Wendy lived the majority of her life passionately helping others.  Prior to her short career as a dental hygienist, Wendy, along with her late husband Chuck, spear headed a thriving youth program through the Methodist Church in Wautoma.  The community praised their efforts in supporting children spiritually and personally.

Wendy’s passion for music was second to none. She immersed herself into all genres of music with her true love of Folk and Bluegrass.  She was known throughout Waushara County as “THE” guitar teacher.  Her dining room was continuously filled with the folk tunes of students at various levels, honing their skills.  Wendy was also an accomplished musician of the dulcimer and banjo as well.  It was at the beginning of her teaching career, after years of trying to conceive, she gave birth to her beautiful son Aaron.  That baby boy, from day one, was surrounded by his mothers’ love and deep passion for music.  Aaron has truly inherited this passion, embracing this throughout his life.

After she slowly brought her teaching to a close, another chapter began in her life.  Wendy became an activities coordinator for both nursing home care centers in Wautoma where she brought a refreshing excitement and exhilaration to the residents.  Much of this was accomplished through her creative methods of incorporating music and art into her programs.  Once again the community praised her for her enthusiastic work effort and desire to help.

In her eventual retirement, Wendy savored time with her grandchildren Paige and Piper.  She eagerly introduced them to music and the arts.  Wendy could not get enough of the theater and Bluegrass scene! She generously supported the artists any way she could.  Music was her true passion although she did enjoy a good spirited debate regarding politics or religion, a trait she definitely inherited from dad.

One of Wendy’s favorite songs by The Byrds – Turn! Turn! Turn!  “To everything – turn, turn, turn. There is a season – turn, turn, turn. And a time for every purpose, under Heaven”.  The angels will definitely have some added song, spunk, and laughter – no doubt!

A music memorial will be planned for later this summer.  Specifics for her celebration of life will be forwarded in the future.
