LAVERNE C. LIPKE

  Of Fremont, age 95, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.  He was born in Waupaca, WI on December 10, 1925 to the late Herman and Olive (Neuman) Lipke. He was baptized on January 3, 1926.  On September 2, 1950 he married Verona Hannemann. They enjoyed 70 years together.

LaVerne was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Marines.  He was a farmer most of his life.  He lived through the depression and had seen hard times, doing without.  He taught his family a strong work ethic and the strength to endure.  LaVerne retired in 1990, moving from the family farm to a new home built to enjoy in his golden years.  He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the United States.  He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, also woodworking until the age of 90.  He enjoyed reading and history, one of the highlights of his life was being able to go on the Old Glory Honor Flight.

He will be sadly missed by his wife: Verona; children: Ramona (Kris) Hrebik of Berlin; Pamela (Gary) Abel of Berlin; Dale (Joanne) Lipke of Byron, MN, Donna (Bill) DeClerc of Green Bay; Kevin (Melissa) Lipke of Fremont, Karen (Craig) Pettit of Pine River, Judy (Jim) Nystrom of Marshfield, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne and Darroll.

The Funeral Service will be on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield.  The visitation will be on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield.
