GERALD J. PLOCKELMAN

Gerald J. Plockelman, age 85 of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully at Appleton Regional Center on Friday, July 31, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He was born June 19, 1935 in Spencer, to George and Lucille (Fritsch) Plockelman. Gerald grew up in Chicago, IL and joined the US Air Force straight from high school where he met and married Emma Katherine Hayslett in 1955. They moved back to Chicago to live and raise three children; Georgia, Jerry and Mary. He worked for the railroad his whole career, retiring in 1997 and moving to their summer home in Wild Rose and wintering in Disney World in Florida. Emma proceeded him in death in September of 2002. In 2004, he met his second love of his life, Jeanette Bulchuck. They spent their years together in Berlin, managing the Pic ’n’ Paw Thrift Store and wintering in Texas.

The joy of his life was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which he loved unconditionally and glowed with pride for each and every one of them. He will be greatly missed always by his daughter, Georgia Kirwan of Wild Rose and her children, Gerald Kirwan of Berlin, Andy (Erin) Kirwan of Wild Rose and their children, Brayden and Brynley “Little Emma”, Michael (Sara) Kirwan of Wautoma, WI and their children, Ozzy and Olive, and Katie Jo (Sean) Miller-Smith of Neenah, WI and their daughter, Kenadee; his son, Jerry Plockelman (Jodi Solomon) of Ottawa, IL; and his daughter, Mary Young of Schaumburg, IL and her son, Alex (Rachel Bond) Young of Toledo, OH; Gerald’s significant other, Jeanette Bulchuck and her children, Leslie (Jackie) Zimmerman, Linda (Rick Recore) Fink, Londell (Marie) Zimmerman, Leisa Shipley and Lindy (Lisa) Zimmerman.

There will be a private family graveside service at Howe’s Corner Cemetery in Wild Rose.

 

Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose assisted the family with arrangements.
