Pedestrian struck by car in Berlin

On Jan. 9, at approximately 11:04 p.m., the Berlin Police Department was dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Broadway St. near Pierce St. in the City of Berlin.

A gold colored 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, occupied by two male persons, was eastbound on Broadway St. when it struck a pedestrian. The driver of the Chevrolet is a 16 year old and the pedestrian is a 52 year old male. The vehicle occupants were not injured. The pedestrian was transported to ThedaCare Berlin Hospital by Berlin EMS with serious injuries.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor for the driver. The pedestrian is believed to have been within the crosswalk at the time of the crash. The names of the involved persons are being withheld pending notification of family.

Broadway St. was closed for approximately four hours after the time of crash. The Berlin Police Department was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Berlin EMS and Expert towing. This crash remains under investigation.
