Judge Guy Dutcher speaks to Kiwanis

Subhead

The Wautoma Kiwanis Club welcomed fellow member Judge Guy Dutcher to their Oct. 15 morning meeting as their guest speaker.

Judge Dutcher spoke on running the court system during the COVID Pandemic. Back in spring Judge Dutcher was asked to be on the WI State Task Force for COVID19. This task force was put together to determine ways to run the court system and keep everyone safe. The recommendations set forth from this task force were implemented throughout the state. With all safety procedures put in place in June they were able to resume hearing cases.

Judge Dutcher said that he loves his job and started his career in Waushara County and plans on retiring from the bench in Waushara County.

On a personal note Judge Dutcher told the club that his Grandmother was the first woman sheriff in the state of Wisconsin in 1943. Guy’s Grandfather was also the sheriff in Waushara County before and after his Grandmothers term. At that time the sheriff and his family lived behind the jail and that is where Howard Dutcher, Guy’s father, grew up.
