On Jan 9, at 5:48 p.m. the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received multiple 911 calls in regards to a two vehicle head on crash on State Road 21, 1/10 mile east of County Road V.
It was believed that the eastbound vehicle was passing a semi and struck the westbound vehicle. The Coloma Police Department, Waushara County EMS, Coloma Fire and Rescue, Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, Waushara County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Waushara County Medical Examiner all responded to the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced deceased on scene by the Waushara County Medical Examiner’s Office. A passenger in the westbound vehicle was transported to UW Hospital via ambulance and air medical.
The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene to assist with reconstruction of the crash. The investigation is still ongoing.
These are the first traffic fatalities in Waushara County for 2021.
