ThedaCare encourages diversity & belonging

As ThedaCare evolves as a leader in population health, its mission and principles drive the system to predict and prevent health needs, and create healthier people in the communities it serves.

Several studies indicate health outcomes are impacted by many dimensions, including race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, geography, gender, disability status and sexual orientation. Addressing disparities is becoming increasingly important as our population continues to become more diverse.

“We recognize the issues of racism and disparity that our patients and team members face every day,” said Maggie Lund, Chief Human Resources Officer at ThedaCare. “It is our priority to continue to work with area organizations, identifying health needs and, in partnership with our communities, implementing and supporting programs for lasting change.”

As a part of this dedication to the community, ThedaCare has expanded the Manager of Talent Acquisition role, held by Ryan Rieth, to the newly created Manager of Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Belonging.

“In this role, Ryan will manage ThedaCare’s talent acquisition function, as well as ensure diversity, inclusion and belonging among all team members,” explained Lund. “We believe Ryan’s background and passion will help broaden and advance the team member, patient and community experience.”

Some of Rieth’s re-sponsibilities in the role at ThedaCare will include the creation and management of programs that promote equity and inclusiveness among team members in a supportive culture.

Rieth joined ThedaCare in January of 2020 as a Human Resources Business Partner, leading projects that primarily advanced the work in Talent Acquisition. He graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. In his former Human Resources roles, he was responsible for fostering a culture of equity and inclusiveness that permeated throughout the organization.

“As the largest employer in Northeast and Central Wisconsin, ThedaCare has a responsibility to our team members, ensuring people from all backgrounds feel supported, represented and have the opportunity to offer suggestions to improve our organization,” said Lund. “We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes and partnerships developed by the role.”
