Wild Rose Lions Club donates educational books

Subhead

Jeff Karasek from the Wild Rose Lions Club, is holding some of the books for donation. The book “Taking Diabetes to School” by Kim Gosselin, is a diabetic educational book, geared to school age children. The book helps them explain to their friends and classmates what is happening to their body and why they may seem different. In honor of World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14, the Lions organization is trying to raise awareness of a disease that effects 463 million worldwide. Many people are not aware that one of the global causes of the Lions Clubs International is diabetic education for prevention and to improve the quality of live for those diagnosed. The books are distributed to the libraries of the local schools and the ThedaCare and Aurora Clinics in the area. If you would like a copy of the book, please contact any Lions Club member.
