Westfield student wins scholarship

Subhead

In May, a number of Westfield Area High School Spanish students participated in the annual National Spanish Exam.  Various certificates are given to all participants and medals are awarded to those that place in the top ten in the state.  One Senior in Spanish IV or above per school district that consistently scored higher than the 75th percentile on the exam could be nominated by their Spanish teacher to apply for one of 60 scholarships to be awarded by the organization nationwide this year.

Molly Cujak, a dedicated Spanish IV student who participated in last summer’s Study Abroad homestay trip to Spain and plans to Major in Spanish this fall at UW-Oshkosh, was nominated by Westfield Spanish Teacher Julianne West.  On Aug. 7, Molly learned that her application was chosen. She will be awarded $1,000 towards her fall tuition.  Molly is the daughter of John and Sheri Cujak.
