Schedule Your Year-End Colonoscopy

The holiday season is fast approaching. Many people take time off from work to buy gifts, visit family, and prepare meals. Although it doesn’t seem like there’s enough down-time, there is one more thing you should consider adding to your to-do list:  

Schedule a colonoscopy. 

A colonoscopy is a common procedure for individuals age 50 and over. It is a screening test that finds precancerous polyps, which are abnormal growths in the colon or rectum. Once these are found, they can be removed before they turn into cancer.  Screening also helps find colorectal cancer at an early stage, when treatment works best.
